Dubawi's Fee Set at £350,000 for 2023

Champion sire-elect Dubawi | Darley Stallions

Dubawi (Ire), the champion sire-elect in Britain and Ireland in 2022, will stand at his highest fee yet of £350,000 next year, making him the most expensive stallion in Europe.

For the past six seasons, a nomination fee for the 20-year-old sire has been priced at £250,000. Dubawi is set to be crowned champion this season with more than £1 million in progeny earnings ahead of the reigning champion Frankel (GB), through those places are reversed in the European table.

Darley also introduces two new stallions in Britain and Ireland respectively, with Perfect Power (Ire), a treble Group 1-winning son of Ardad (Ire), joining Dalham Hall Stud at £15,000, while the G1 Platinum Jubilee S. winner Naval Crown (GB) becomes the sixth son of Dubawi on the current roster, and will be based at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €15,000.

While Dubawi heads the Dalham Hall line-up, his son Night Of Thunder (Ire) fills the same position at Kildangan where he will command his first six-figure fee in 2023, his price having risen from €75,000 to €100,000.

Night Of Thunder's fellow Kildangan resident Blue Point (Ire) has been trimmed to €35,000, while the fee for Teofilo (Ire) remains at €30,000.

Alongside Dubawi in Newmarket, another of his sons, Too Darn Hot (GB), who has his first yearlings next year, has been trimmed to £40,000, while Palace Pier (GB), who will have first foals on the ground from January, has also had a minor fee reduction to £50,000.

Darley's trio of stallions at Haras du Logis in Normandy are led by French Classic winner Victor Ludorum (Ire), who remains at €15,000.

Sam Bullard, Director of Stallions, said, “There's no bigger name in the business than champion sire Dubawi. He's set even higher standards for himself in 2022, and it's only right his new fee should reflect this. Equally, demand for his best stallion son Night Of Thunder is also extremely gratifying.

“It's great news we have Dubawi's Platinum Jubilee winner Naval Crown joining the team in Ireland, and–with Perfect Power at Dalham Hall Stud–we're proud to have two tremendous commercial prospects for breeders to get stuck into.

“Looking down the list, we've tried to be as competitive with our prices as we can, knowing how hard it is for breeders in today's challenging economic conditions.”
